Rebecca Snyder, PhD

Rebecca is Senior Director of Conservation, Education, and Science at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, where she manages wildlife conservation partnerships locally and globally, guides education programs to inspire conservation action, leads animal wellbeing and sustainability initiatives, and conducts research on animal behavior. While earning her PhD in Experimental Psychology at Georgia Institute of Technology, she studied giant panda reproduction and maternal behavior at two facilities in Chengdu, China. She has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles at accredited zoological institutions.

Rebecca also serves as the chair of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Giant Panda Conservation Foundation and as a steering committee member of AZA’s North American Monarch SAFE Program.
