Social Media Coordinator

Alena is an elephant and rhino caretaker at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden. She received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Behavior from the University of Aberdeen, and is interested in behavioral research and using data-driven evidence to enhance daily approaches to animal husbandry.

Alena recently led a study at Oklahoma City Zoo that investigated the overnight behavioral rhythms of a geriatric male elephant. Read more here.
